Design Inspiration
The Belly Series is inspired by the collar and belt structure of a classic coat. The backrest and armrests are connected through a continuous curved line, wrapping around the body like a collar and creating a relaxed, comfortable sitting experience. The exposed steel frame at the back takes reference from the belt of a coat, adding a clean structural line to the full upholstered volume. This contrast gives Belly a more refined proportion, making it visually memorable without feeling heavy.
The design also responds to today’s image-driven culture, where appearance is often valued more than real comfort. By combining a full upholstered body with a slim metal frame, Belly challenges a single standard of beauty. It embraces volume, lightness, comfort, and acceptance in one design language.
