Design Inspiration
A designer once asked: what shape feels the least threatening? The answer points to the circle. Without edges or corners, there is no sense of rejection; a round form naturally signals approachability. Inspired by the moon’s softness and quiet presence, LUNO brings that sense of inclusiveness into the scale of public furniture. Moonlight falls on everyone, regardless of setting, and LUNO does the same — in any space and in any configuration, it creates an atmosphere that feels calm, yet never cold.

Large pouf-like seats can easily feel bulky and visually heavy, but the raised base gives LUNO a subtle floating effect. It remains stable while making the space feel lighter, more open, and more relaxed. The circular form also suits both clustered and scattered layouts, allowing more people to be accommodated within the same area without making it feel crowded. In waiting areas, library reading corners, or staff break zones, people simply will not stay if the seating is uncomfortable. LUNO uses high-density foam to provide stable support and resilience, resisting sagging over time. Even in high-use environments, it maintains lasting comfort, reducing maintenance and replacement pressure.
Available in three sizes — Ø600, Ø900, and Ø1200 — LUNO supports waiting, conversation, and relaxation with greater spatial efficiency. In settings such as libraries, office areas, or lobbies, furniture needs to be durable without overwhelming the atmosphere. LUNO strikes a balance between function and visual calm, helping spaces remain comfortable and orderly. Different spaces call for different material expressions. A range of fabric and mixed fabric-leather options allows the product to integrate more easily into broader schemes, reducing repeated revisions and coordination costs. The detachable base makes transport and on-site installation easier, while also simplifying future maintenance, bringing greater ease both during project delivery and over long-term use.
Seating with backs and sharp edges often creates an unspoken sense of boundary, subtly increasing distance between people. LUNO’s non-directional circular form encourages people to approach, stay, and interact more naturally, while also making the space itself easier to use.
